3 hours: I read ahead in the directions a bit looking for something I could work on with the tools available. The second step instructs you to simply fabricate some oddly-shaped brackets from aluminum stock, without really telling you how. Other people on the web have had a lot of trouble hacksawing this stuff, so I decided it was time to try out that bandsaw. The cutting went pretty well, but my first "oops" was realizing the clamps I had used to hold the aluminum to the fence had nicked it pretty badly. Fortunately it was salvageable.
