Paul Eastham's RV-9A

10/17/2003

4 hours: Still feeling pretty under the weather, all I could muster was to prepare to rivet. Assembled the nose ribs into the skin, nicking off some of the primer... Fluted those some more so they don't do that. Spent a long while trying to figure out what to use as a bucking bar in the cramped nose rib area. I love how they make your first bucked rivets the hardest... Assembled front spar. Ready to squeeze those rivets. Made some practice rivet strips for whoever will assist me with the nose ribs. Drove a few of my own using a squeezer yoke as a bucking bar, which seems to be the heaviest steel object I can get into that area.
