Paul Eastham's RV-9A

11/21/2003

4 hours: Emily and I got the right HS nose rib riveted in about 20 minutes, with both of the hardest rivets turning out perfect the first time. I guess we're getting better. Then I attempted the outside two nose ribs on my own, and did a pretty awful job...probably drilled out 10 rivets out of the 20 holes. My excuse is that the right-side nose ribs were heavily fluted making access with the bucking bar difficult (and impossible for a squeezer). Seems like these HS nose ribs are just a tough design to deal with no matter how you slice it.

But nonetheless, the HS is finally joined together! Now I have to do a bunch of riveting on the right side, then put the rear spar on top, and it'll be done.
