Paul Eastham's RV-9A

11/23/2003

3 hours: I did a little more riveting on the HS and re-struck some of the rivets that needed a little more smashing.

Then I set up to countersink the narrow AEX wedge for the rudder trailing edge. After a lot of experimentation, I wound up with the crazy-looking jig pictured below. I'm sure you could do better but this is what I had on hand...the wedge is very thin so any misalignment will easily ruin the thing. As I was almost all the way through countersinking, my clamp slipped and a hole ended up about double normal size. I guess I will buy a new wedge, $22 for a little sliver of aluminum.
