Paul Eastham's RV-9A

12/7/2003

3 hours:The trailing edge of the rudder is glued together before riveting, in order to keep it nice and straight. The "glue" used is the sealant used on the fuel tanks, a very nasty, very thick stuff which is impervious to all solvents once dry. Here I am getting ready to mix it up...as it turned out my preparations were insufficient and I wound up getting it all over the place.

Here is the "black death" ready for action. It is about the consistency of peanut butter.

I slimed it on there and clecoed it all together along with a long piece of aluminum I bought at Home Depot to keep it all lined up. Sorry, forgot to take a picture...the fumes were driving me away!
