1/5/20046 hours: Besides cleaning up the shop today (using the excuse of looking for my missing parts -- didn't find them), I made a lot of progress on the rear wing spars. Here are all the parts, which all needed to be smoothed out. The spar itself is way too long to fit on the bench grinder so I had to use a vixen file and the die grinder. The spar doublers are not predrilled so you need to use the spar as a pattern. One set of doublers has this weirdly-shaped cutout. You can get most of the material out with a unibit, but the last little bit took me almost an hour with files, my dremel tool, and sandpaper. The second one took more like 5 minutes...like most things on this airplane, it's much harder to figure out what to do, and how, than actually doing it. Here's the final product...it's backwards because the doubler is upside down. This is the inboard set of doublers and reinforcement fork.
