1/6/20047 hours: It's time for the dreaded wing rib preparation. Each rib much have every edge smoothed, the lightening holes deburred, the flanges straightened and fluted. The ribs are nested together in this photo; there are at least 60 ribs total.I went through a lot of scotchbrite wheels deburring all these guys. I used the scotchbrite wheels in the bench press for the lightening holes and the outsides of the thinner ribs, and the bench grinder for the outsides of the thicker ribs. After doing that to all the ribs, I couldn't bear to flute and straighten the entire stack so I just did one at a time and then installed them on the wing as I went. I still have to debur the inside notches on all the ribs as well -- this is likely to be one of the slowest parts of the process. Here it is. There are 4 more ribs on the left end yet to do.
